Description
Džemal Bijedić (12 April 1917 – 18 January 1977) was a Yugoslav and Bosnian politician and socio-political worker. Born in Mostar. Bijedić excelled in the affirmation of Bosnia and Herzegovina within Yugoslavia, as well as in the fight for national equality.
As an annex of the Museum of Herzegovina, on April 22, 1981, the Memorial House of Džemal Bijedić was opened. The Museum of Herzegovina has been designated as the holder of museological activities. For this exhibition, 12,300 museum items have been collected (photographs, albums, three-dimensional objects, letters, reports, manuscripts, film strips, print, books of mourning in our and foreign embassies, etc.).
The conceptual concept for the decoration of the Memorial House was made by Moni Finci, a museum expert from Sarajevo. The Institute for Urban Planning and Communal Activities has done its part of the job.
