On the Paths of (In)visible Women of Mostar

Mostar is a city of rich cultural heritage that attracts the attention of the world with its architecture, beauty and history. Deeply rooted in its story, however, lie the stories of extraordinary women whose contributions are often not sufficiently explored or valorized in the collective memory. Throughout the past centuries, Mostar was adorned not only by imposing buildings, but also by true heroines who shaped this city with their strength and talents, but their story often remained hidden.

With this tourist map, I am trying to revive their contribution and remind the public of their role in the construction of Mostar as we know it today. Although their stories may not be highlighted in everyday life, they are still an indelible part of the history of Mostar, and their importance reaches deep into the foundations of this city. Through this map, we will discover the secret strength and perseverance of these women, and try to point out their importance in the collective memory of Mostar.
