New content at Mostar picnic areas, first benches installed at Rujište

The Mostar City Tourist Board has installed nine benches in the Rujište area, a popular picnic spot located near Mostar, further enriching the area that is increasingly attracting hikers, hikers, and nature lovers.

The project was realized with the help of the Citizens' Association "Center for Environmental Protection Rujište", whose members determined the most suitable locations for placing the benches. The goal is to provide visitors with a more pleasant stay in nature, but also to encourage a more responsible attitude towards the excursion site, which has great recreational and tourist potential.

Placed benches are located in locations that offer visitors the opportunity to rest during a walk, hike or family trip. Rujište, due to its proximity to Mostar and natural beauty, has been one of the favorite places to escape from the city crowd for years.

The Tourist Board of the City of Mostar has previously worked on the development and promotion of this excursion site in the Rujište area. Among other things, the Slave Park has been developed, educational information boards have been installed, and in recent years Rujište has become a gathering place for citizens through excursions and socializing that the TZGM now traditionally prepares in cooperation with mountaineers and members of the mountain rescue services.

The Mostar City Tourist Board says that the development of picnic areas will not stop at Rujište. There are plans to install benches in the Fortica area and Mount Čabulja, which would further improve the tourist and recreational infrastructure in the Mostar area.

Such measures, although simple, play an important role in creating better conditions for staying in nature, but also in the development of sustainable tourism. The placement of benches at picnic areas contributes to greater availability of space for all generations, especially for families, the elderly and recreationists who increasingly choose natural locations in the vicinity of Mostar.
