Travel by car

Mostar is located in the southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, within the Herzegovina region. It lies on the banks of the Neretva River and is surrounded by mountains, providing a picturesque setting for this historic city. Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is approximately 127 kilometers (about 79 miles) northeast of Mostar.

From Dubrovnik to Mostar

Start in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Take the D8 road northward from Dubrovnik, following signs for Split. Continue on the D8, passing through towns such as Zaton and Slano. Follow the signs for Ploče and take the E65 highway. Cross the border into Bosnia and Herzegovina. Continue on the E73/M6.1 highway towards Mostar. Follow the signs for Mostar as you approach the city. Arrive in Mostar.
