Workshop for tourist guides: Get to know the green sights of Mostar

The city of Mostar and the People in Need organization invite all tour guides to a half-day workshop entitled "Green sights of Mostar - a journey through the avenue of plane trees and natural monuments of the city", which will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. from 10 a.m. to 12:35 p.m., in the premises of the Center for Olive Growing in Buna, Mostar.

The workshop will be led by Bojan Spasojević, an expert in horticulture and landscape architecture from Mostar, known for his long-standing commitment to preserving and improving green spaces and tree-lined avenues in the city.

The aim of the workshop is to familiarize the tourist guides with the historical and cultural significance of the Alley of Plane Trees and other natural monuments of Mostar, and to enable them to convey this knowledge to visitors in the best and most interesting way possible. Through a combination of expert lectures, interactive activities and field trips, participants will gain new knowledge about the natural and cultural heritage of Mostar, as well as the importance of preserving its green symbols.

Participants will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive part of the workshop, a field trip, and a discussion on the preservation and promotion of the city's green landmarks. The number of participants is limited to 15.

The activity is supported through the project "Strengthening democratic innovation and promoting human rights at the local level in Bosnia and Herzegovina" implemented by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe within the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period 2022-2025.
