Sign up for the contest for the best postcard of Mostar

The Tourist Board of the city of Mostar in cooperation with the Mostar Photo Club invites all photography lovers and creative people to participate in the competition for the best postcard of Mostar.

Mostar, a city rich in history, tradition and unforgettable landscapes, has always been an inspiration to many artists and photographers. With the aim of promoting the beauty of our city and creating unique souvenirs for visitors, we invite you to capture with your photos what makes Mostar special.

Contest conditions:

1. Topic: Mostar postcard - from bridges, Old Town and natural beauty to everyday life and cultural heritage.

2. Who can participate: The competition is open to all interested participants - amateurs and professionals. We especially invite those under the age of 18 to apply, with a mandatory note in the application that they are minors. In this case, the application must also contain the consent of parents or guardians.

3. Format: Photos should be in JPG format, prepared at 300 dpi resolution, with a minimum size of 3000 pixels per long page.
4. Application deadline: June 30, 2025.
5. Awards: The best photos will be printed as official postcards of the Tourist Board of the city of Mostar, and the authors of the best works will be awarded the following awards:
1st place – 1,000 KM
2nd place – 600 KM
3rd place – 400 KM
6. Evaluation criteria and jury: The best photos submitted to the competition will be decided by a three-member jury composed of representatives of the Photo Club Mostar, representatives of the Tourist Board of the City of Mostar and one freelance artist. Photos will be judged on the basis of originality, quality of performance, emotional impression and creativity in the depiction of Mostar.
7. Copyright: With his application, the photographer confirms that he is authorized to participate in the competition of the Tourist Board of the city of Mostar and that he will respect the rules of the competition and other rights related to authorship and ownership of the submitted works, moral and copyright rights, the rights of the depicted persons, names, trademarks and other works of art in the picture, and that no additional conditions or permissions are required for the publication of these photos.

The photographer retains the copyright, but by sending photos, he gives the organizer the non-exclusive right to: Publication on official promotional materials (postcards, brochures, web, social networks), format adaptation (e.g. for print or web), use without additional charge with the author's name.

The photographer hereby consents to the time, space, dimension and quantity of his/her submitted photographs being exhibited at the exhibition, reproduction of exhibited photographs for marketing and promotion purposes, discussions, publication on websites, press releases, specialized publications, social networks and other media, in any electronic, printed or other media.

By participating, the photographer confirms that the uploaded photos are not subject to the rights of third parties; in particular, that all shown persons agree to the specified use and that the rights to protect personal data of third parties are not thereby violated. All works published as part of the contest in question must be free of third-party rights and other rights related to intellectual property, the right to privacy, the right to use personal photographs, etc.

The organizers of the contest in question are not responsible for any claims of third parties related to the violation of such rights. The organizers are free, at their own discretion, to disqualify submitted works that could constitute a violation of such rights and to prevent the participation of the photographer who submitted those works.

How to apply:

You can apply by sending your works exclusively to the e-mail address: [press@exploremostar.ba] with the subject: "Competition for the best postcard of Mostar".

You must include the following in your application:

• Name and surname of the author, address,
• photo titles and a short description of each work,
• Each author can submit a total of three (3) photos,
• Each photo must have a unique title. Photo titles such as "Untitled" or "Untitled" or generic automatic camera-provided titles (eg IMG4422.jpg) are not acceptable, and entries named in this manner will be disqualified.
• The author's name or logo must not be visible anywhere in the photo.

The Tourist Board of the city of Mostar reserves the right to cancel the Competition without any special explanation and without any costs or other financial or other consequences that may arise. Photos that contain or in any way promote hate speech, discrimination, intolerance, violence or other inappropriate content will not be considered. The organizer reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not comply with these rules.
