The ceremonial unveiling of the replica of the stone judge's chair from Kosor, organized by the Mostar Tourist Board and the Toprak Association, will take place on Friday, February 28, at 10 a.m. in front of the Tourist Information Center in Blagaj. The stone chair, which was originally located in Kosor, not far from Blagaj, was used as a place for open-air public trials, a gathering place for the jury, and served as a symbol of government and administration.<\/p>\n
The chair from Kosor testifies to the rule of the nobles, among whom were the Sankovi\u0107s, and later the Kosa\u010ds, who ruled the area. According to folklore, Duke Stjepan Kosa\u010da also sat and judged on this chair.<\/p>\n
The initiative to create a replica of the Stone Chair was launched by the Toprak Association in 2019 with the consent of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project was supported by the Cantonal Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, HNK and the City of Mostar. The replica of the Stone Chair was made by academic sculptor Borivoje \u017du\u017ea in 2024.<\/p>\n
Along with financial support, the Tourist Board of the city of Mostar also offered the location of the Tourist Information Center in Blagaj for the installation of a replica of the Stone Chair, so that, after its original was moved from Kosor to the garden of the National Museum in Sarajevo in 1953, it would be available to the public and tourists in Blagaj.<\/p>\n
